Climate, Social and Sustainable Finance sector within Taru focuses on integrating local, national, and global financing drawn from public, private and alternative sources to support mitigation, adaptation, and resilient actions, addressing climate change, sustainability, and social needs for larger impact. Within this evolving space, Taru has been working on various fronts that look at evidence building and delve into developing investment plans, action research, case studies, and best practices, strategy development, risk analysis, roadmap preparation, etc. Our activities have looked at climate and sustainability-based investment planning exercises, providing insights to impact and social bond programmes, technical assistance to infrastructure, system building initiatives, program implementation, and promoting technologies and solutions addressing climate change and sustainability. 

With such focus, Taru has worked on many key initiatives such as Assessment of Social Return on Investment (SROI) for WASH sector in Covid 19 Pandemic in 6 Indian states, Climate-Resilient and Low Carbon Growth in Ahmedabad City; Sectoral and City level business and investment planning in Vishakhapatnam, Preparation of an Investment model and Business plan for Silt Management in Bihar, Development of Investment Plans for Nutrition, Hygiene and Sanitation enterprises in Bihar, Development of Conceptual Framework for Investment Funding Mechanisms and Institutional Set-up Options for a National Urban Flood Risk Investment Program for Indonesian Cities amongst others. 

Moreover, Taru has contributed to many Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG), Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD), and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) towards investment planning by undertaking innovative projects such as Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) of two Airports situated at Mumbai and Navi Mumbai; ESG Due Diligence review; Annual External Audit of 4 power plants; Conducting ESDD for Project Great River in Odisha; Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Social Impact Assessment (SIA) Studies for Madhepura & Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study for Saharanpur; Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) of Road Assets in various States.
