Financial Inclusion & Resilience, Fintech, and Social Payments

Financial Inclusion & Resilience, Fintech, and Social Payments

Our focus area in this sector is making financial inclusion, resilience, and related domains essential for social and economic growth and empowerment. We believe that all forms of vulnerability reduction are key to attaining financial resilience; otherwise, they may lead to financial instability for poor households. Taru has extensive experience of working with community-based microfinance that focuses on the SHG-Bank linkage programmes, DBT programmes, and FinTech, considered the most effective intervention in Financial Inclusion (FI) and resilience for targeting the poorest of the poor households. Our focus area in this sector is to increase community institutions' sustainability by ensuring process audits and compliance.

Taru has developed digitalized tools for tracking operational efficiency and financial sustainability, also the rating tools and graduation indicators for SHGs and Upper-Level Federations. Financial literacy is the other focus area where we work, especially in capacity building of community, community leaders, cadre and community professionals, and staff working in this area. We also work in the insurance sector, focusing on the life and general insurance, targeting the bottom of pyramid segments. Another focus area of our interventions is supporting organizations/agencies working in the financial inclusion domain to integrate their activities with livelihood promotion and microenterprise by preparing the business plan for producer groups and federations.
